GSA Launches New Schedule for Professional Services
On October 1, 2015, the General Services Administration launched a new Schedule for Professional Services. The new Professional Services Schedule (PSS) unifies and consolidates the former eight schedules into one contract solution. According to Tiffany Hixon, the GSA Regional Commissioner and Professional Services Category Executive, “the new PSS contract provides access to the same professional services that GSA has always offered but in one easier to use contract environment.
Professional Services contracts include contracts for advertising, consulting, environmental services, financial and business solutions, language services, logistics, and engineering. These categories have not changed. However, instead of a separate contract requirement for each type of offering, the vendor offers are now consolidated under a single contract for each company.
The new PSS allows federal agencies to improve their cost savings and efficiency through the creation of fewer contracts and solicitations; while still providing the same professional services offerings as before. It reduces the former 5,000+ contracts by almost 30% and is expected to significantly decrease administrative costs for the GSA.
The Following Schedules have been Consolidated Under the New PSS
