GSA Extends Moratorium on EPA Limitations through March 2024
On August 30, 2023, GSA released the updated Acquisition Letter MV-22-02, Supplement 3, in order to extend the temporary moratorium on the enforcement of certain GSA Economic Price Adjustment (EPA) limitations through March 31, 2024.
Although recent numbers suggest the inflation rate is coming back down to normal levels, the need for this temporary moratorium continues, as supply chain shortages and price volatility continue to negatively impact the global economy.
The temporary moratorium removes the requirement that contracting officers seek higher-level approval for economic price adjustments. The Supplement also suspends the ceiling for EPAs and instructs contracting officers not to request more information than is “normally necessary” to process an EPA request.
