How do I exercise the option to renew my GSA contract?

GSA Schedule Contracts are for an initial 5-year base period with the option to renew them for an additional three 5-year periods for a total of 20-years. VA Schedule contracts are for an initial 5-year base period with one five-year option to renew for a total of 10 years. Approximately 6-12-months prior to your contract expiration date you may receive an Option To Extend your contract for an additional 5-year period. The renewal process is not automatic; you must respond with your intentions to the option modification in order to renew your contract. GSA requires those contractors wishing to renew their contract to submit documentation showing evidence of contract compliance, latest pricing, proper registrations, and a number of other items depending on your particular situation.
